To be transparent and keep the community aware of the progress being made at MUNCH, we’re sharing the updates and plans from our weekly core team meeting.

The first MUNCH weekly meeting and community update focused on finding moves that will increase the legitimacy and trust in the project and keep generating steady, sustainable growth through more active members of the MUNCH community.

Exchanges and listings

We have a number of proposals from exchanges that the team is currently evaluating. We want to give as many people the option to buy MUNCH, but grow steadily, and avoid associating ourselves with exchanges with a negative reputation.

There will be a concrete update on exchange listings on Monday.

Timelock on burns

The first burn of 5% of the total supply happened today! The team has also decided that the remaining 25% will be burned at significant milestones in the progress of MUNCH, rather than every Sunday. The first milestone will be when donations hit 500k.

In the meantime, all tokens to be burnt will be protected by a timelock so they can’t be accessed or sent anywhere.

Finding good causes with create reputations

To help the community choose the next cause to support, we’re conducting background checks with a number of highly accredited and well-known charities to ensure that the fees from the community only ever go to people in need.

Once these are done, we will have a community vote from a shortlist of causes and this cause will receive MUNCH donations when it is time to change from GiveWell.

Innovation

  • MUNCH mascots
We will be creating illustrations of some potential mascots for the community to choose from. There will be two community votes: one to decide which mascot we like best and one to decide the name.
  • NFTs
The first MUNCH NFT is in production in collaboration with an artist from the community and will be a specially commissioned MUNCH painting.
  • Merch
Look good; feel good. MUNCH Merch is in production and coming soon!

Fees freeze

The current transaction fee is 10%, the initial plan was to drop this down to 3%, but after listening to your feedback, we will maintain it at 10% to give more back, and help deter bots.

We’re asking the community to decide on the proportion that is redistributed and the proportion that will be sent to charity. Stay tuned for the Telegram poll to have your say in this!

Communications

  • AMA
Ask us anything! We will be hosting an AMA in the coming week. The platform and time will be decided and shared so get your questions ready.
  • Weekly updates
Just like this one, the core team will be sharing a weekly update on the progress and developments, and the elements we need your input in.
  • Twitter and Reddit
After your feedback that MUNCH should be more active on the official communication accounts on Twitter and Reddit, we will be adding resources to manage these channels more actively and posting more.
  • Discord
We will create a Discord channel for MUNCH. Simple.

Contract audit

We’ve decided to enlist Solidity to conduct an audit of the MUNCH contract and will be sharing the results as soon as possible.

200k in donations reached!

For a project four days old, this is an incredible milestone and the team has been overwhelmed by the support from the MUNCH community. We will be working on an official announcement to celebrate this with our charity partner.

Thanks!
MUNCH
